As Head of Global Social Media Marketing, you will lead Westwing’s social media strategy across Europe. In this role, you will be responsible for elevating our owned channels to become the #1 destination for Home & Living inspiration in Europe, a space that is culturally relevant, commercially savvy, and at the forefront of what’s next. Social Media is a central pillar of our Brand Strategy and instrumental in driving brand visibility, engagement, and product relevance across our markets. With over 10 million followers across platforms, including million on Instagram alone, Westwing’s social media presence is one of our strongest brand assets.
You will work as a visionary, culturally attuned leader, guiding a highly creative and performance-driven team across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, and collaborate closely with Brand, Creative, Commercial, Production, and Performance Marketing teams. You will shape how we communicate our identity, engage our audience, and drive desire through storytelling, product, and community. This position is limited to 1 year and based in Munich.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
1. Own and continuously evolve Westwing’s social media strategy across all platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.)
2. Further build our social channels into the most relevant, engaged-with, talked-about, and followed in the industry
3. Lead and develop an international, cross-functional team of creatives, strategists, and channel managers, and oversee social media workflows and operational processes
4. Drive both brand engagement and commercial outcomes through content that emotionally connects and delivers measurable business impact
5. Develop scalable content formats that boost recognition and enable storytelling across retail, digital, and creator channels
6. Oversee owned and earned media value development as a core KPI across all initiatives
7. Drive performance reporting and budgeting across social media initiatives, utilising automation and AI to ensure data accuracy, KPI ownership and confident use of tools such as Excel and Google Sheets
8. Partner closely with Creator, Brand and Campaigns to deliver integrated initiatives that movethe needle on awareness, reach and GMV
9. Act as an internal thought leader for cultural relevance, platform trends and new social mechanics
YOU COME WITH
10. 8+ years of experience in leading social media, preferably in high-growth lifestyle, fashion, design, or premium e-commerce brands
11. A deep understanding of content, culture, and commerce, and how to build narratives that generate maximum reach and relevance
12. Proven experience in managing teams and scaling social channels through creativity, systems, and data, ideally paired with a strategic or business-focused background (, Marketing Strategy, Communications, or Economics)
13. Commercial mindset and ability to translate engagement into measurable impact (, GMV, traffic, impressions)
14. Strong instinct for storytelling, platform innovation, and zeitgeist relevance
15. Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align across multiple departments and drive cross-functional collaboration
