To support our Finance department at our cologne location, we are looking for a
Accounting Controller (m/f/d) DACH
Your Tasks
1. Responsibility for the Accounting / Finance DACH division
2. Coordinating and ensuring the proper processing of all relevant accounting and finance transactions in accordance with IFRS and commercial law for the respective legal entities
3. Proactive monitoring of balance sheet and income statement quality in collaboration with global and local stakeholders
4. Assistance with and control of bookings made
5. Recording problems, including finding solutions and passing them on to the relevant departments
6. Responsibility for auditing and approving the annual financial statements, including coordination and participation
7. Coordination and clarification of queries with the auditors
8. Recording and forwarding questions from the tax audit to the Tax Manager, including reconciliation
9. Participation in projects and continuous improvement measures
10. Interface function, e.g. with Business Functions, Business Controller, Supply Chain Controller, Sales, and Site Management
11. Responsibility for the continuous development and improvement of processes
People Management
12. Disciplinary and professional management of employees in line with AkzoNobel's management model
13. Responsibility for personnel decisions in cooperation with the HR Business Partner
Your Qualification
14. Completed business studies or commercial training with additional qualification, e.g. as an accountant (m/f/d)
15. Many years of relevant professional experience within an international company
16. Profound knowledge of IFRS and HGB
17. Proven experience in leading an international team
18. Strong proactive and effective communication skills at all levels
19. Excellent analytical skills
20. Structured, independent and responsible way of working
21. Flexibility, resilience and hands-on mentality
22. Continuous Improvement Mindset
23. Very good knowledge of MS Office
24. Good knowledge of SAP (FI) and Hyperion HFM is a plus
25. Fluency in German and English
