General Summary:
We are looking for a motivated and skilled In-house Service Engineer to join our Wessling Service Center. The Service Engineer will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of BTG equipment used in pulp, graphic, packaging, and tissue manufacturing processes. This is a hands-on, workshop-based role with a strong focus on mechanical (60%), electrical/electronic (25%), and computing/software (15%) tasks.
The Service Engineer will play a key role in ensuring that equipment is restored to operational conditions quickly, safely, and to the highest quality standards, supporting our internal teams and contributing to customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
* Customer Satisfaction: Ensure ultimate internal and external customer satisfaction during every service interaction
* Technical Services: Perform inspection, cost estimate, mechanical/electronic maintenance, testing, and repairs for BTG's high-tech online analyzers, sensors, and lab equipment. Conduct software upgrades, firmware installation, and equipment configuration using diagnostics tools.
* Technical Assistance: Provide technical support via phone and email as needed and occasional training to internal stakeholders or customers
* Reporting: Accurately document services and key information using computer-based reporting systems
* Continuous improvement: Support internal 5S initiatives and work closely with field service operation and product manager to support continuous improvement
* Responsible for own personal safety, the safety of the team and those around you.
* Work in accordance with and enforce compliance with all BTG policies (ex: Safety, Code of Conduct, Commercial Policy, Security Policy and Export Compliance) to maintain BTG reputation and image

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and service manuals. Proficiency in basic PC applications and diagnostic software.
* Customer-Oriented: Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be self-driven and proactive.
* Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills and a natural curiosity to learn and resolve technical issues.
* Communication: Good interpersonal, listening, and communication skills to interact effectively with customers and colleagues.
* Work Standards: High level of accountability, punctuality, and organization.
* Travel: Willingness to travel occasionally to support Field Service Engineer or participate in internal meetings in Europe .
Required Education/Experience:
* Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering (or equivalent)
* 3+ years of relevant hands-on service or maintenance experience
