About the role:
As a EHS Expert you will be ensuring occupational health, safety, and environmental (EHS) compliance at our Mannheim site and across selected projects, supporting safe operations, regulatory adherence, and continuous improvement in line with international standards. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to management, employees, and external stakeholders on all EHS-related matters.
You will report to the Manager QEHS Germany and be located at Mannheim
Key Responsibilities:
1. Performing the duties of an Occupational Safety Specialist
2. Advising management, executives, and employees on all matters relating to occupational safety, environmental protection, and health protection, including active participation in project meetings on EHS topics
3. Supporting the monitoring of occupational health, safety, and environmental protection measures, as well as compliance with applicable regulations, rules, and requirements
4. Contributing to the creation of management system documentation in accordance with ISO 45001, risk assessments, operating instructions, training materials, and conducting EHS training for WEG employees
5. Inspecting workplaces in Mannheim and project sites at external facilities (particularly in our decommissioning projects), including the necessary documentation
6. Acting as a competent point of contact for our customers and supervisory authorities (BG ETEM)
7. Organizing and chairing ASA meetings, including preparation of minutes
Qualifications:
8. You have completed vocational training or a degree in a experienced trade, technical, or industrial field
9. You hold the qualification of Occupational Safety Specialist with several years of practical professional experience, ideally also in the construction sector
10. Ideally (but not required), you already have qualifications as a Radiation Protection Officer and/or Environmental Officer, as well as experience with occupational safety and environmental management systems in accordance with ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001, or you are interested in obtaining such further qualifications
11. You are a team player with willingness to travel nationally and internationally
