Position Overview
As a (Senior) Controller for the Line of Business (LoB) Home and Digital Services, you will oversee the DACH portfolio, encompassing Germany, Austria, Central Eastern Europe, and Switzerland. Reporting directly to the Head of Planning & Controlling Home and Digital Services, you will play a crucial role in transforming Allianz Partners into a LoB-driven organization. Your mission is to provide in-depth financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to support strategic decision-making within the assigned LoB and geographical areas. This role ensures compliance with financial regulations, optimizes financial performance, significantly contributes to the business strategy, and fosters transparency among finance and non-finance stakeholders both regionally and globally. This is a temporary position intended to cover an 18-month maternity leave for the current portfolio manager.
Key Responsibilities
* Planning Dialogue: Lead and manage the planning, budgeting, and periodic forecasting processes for the LoB at the sub-region level, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
* Financial Reporting: Develop, prepare, and present detailed and accurate financial reports that adhere to corporate guidelines and facilitate strategic decision-making.
* Client Satisfaction: Maximize client contentment (LoB stakeholders) by anticipating business needs, steering financials, and creating transparency through portfolio monitoring, underwriting, steering, and collaboration with LoB Regional Heads.
* Pivotal Role: Support Finance Tribe Leaders during closing and trend analysis activities, focusing on performance highlights and understanding key market and business plan drivers. Collaborate with OPS to steer claims performances.
* Cost Optimization: Identify and implement opportunities for improved productivity, enhancing financial efficiency within the LoB and sub-region across different functions.
* Projects: Support ad hoc initiatives impacting the LoB or spanning multiple LoBs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Qualifications
* Master's degree in international finance, economics, or a related insurance field.
* Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and controlling within the Financial Department, ideally in an international environment and/or the insurance sector.
* Proficiency in English, with German highly recommended; additional languages are welcomed.
* Expertise in financial software and tools (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Excel, PowerBI).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments with stakeholders at all levels.
* High level of integrity and willingness to work in a multicultural, inclusive, and international company.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to work.
