The Hub of Computing and Data Science (HCDS) is a competence unit for research and forms the core element for the central support of digitalization and digital transformation in research at the University of Hamburg.
Your responsibilities
Duties include academic services in the project named above. Research associates may also pursue independent research and further academic qualifications. They may also pursue doctoral studies outside of working duties.
In the project "Research Information Service Romance Studies", you will research the conceptualization and implementation of multilanguage crawlers for digital resources. Further, the processing of the data and semi-automatized categorization based on scientific systems will be part of your responsibility. In addition, the conceptualization, implementation and maintenance of a research network spanning romance studies in a broader sense as well as advanced features to identify topical and methodological experts is expected.
Your profile
A university degree in a relevant field.
 * experience in management and creation of datasets, corpora and metadata
 * experience in Computational linguistics
 * experience in one or more of the following areas:
 * modelling of data and data management
 * linguistic applications of artificial intelligence
 * multimodal data collection and processing
 * retrieval augmented generation architectures
 * web architectures
 * data visualization
 * organization and management of software development
 * very good command of written and spoken English and German
 * strong social and communication skills, initiative, motivation, high sense of responsibility, ability to work in a team, and very good organizational skills
