Head of Quality - BU Compression Technologies
The Heating & Refrigeration Division of GEA provides refrigeration and heating solutions for processes, distribution, district heating/cooling, and other industries. We help our customers de-carbonize their processes using only natural zero-warming potential refrigerants, positioning us at the forefront of industrial decarbonization.
Responsibilities
1. Factory Support: Proactively support production sites to elevate quality standards and optimize quality excellence.
2. BU Quality Support: Provide expert advice and guidance to the Business Unit Compression Technologies on process improvement and quality enhancement across all organizational areas.
3. Develop Guidelines & Procedures: Implement global quality guidelines and procedures aligned with global QM and other division quality functions to ensure consistency and best practices.
4. Prioritization & Team Support: Coordinate initiatives to enhance the QM system and quality processes, supporting sites in adopting an aligned QHSE management system.
5. Manage Customer Returns: Oversee failure analysis related to customer returns, driving root cause identification and corrective actions to reduce costs associated with poor quality.
6. End-to-End Quality & Operational Excellence: Promote a comprehensive quality approach and operational excellence across the value chain, from lean manufacturing to procurement.
7. Audits: Assist in preparing for external audits, re-certifications, and corrective actions; monitor compliance with ISO standards and initiate corrective measures as needed.
8. Reviews: Prepare divisional management reviews and related content.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with at least 5 years of experience in Quality Management, preferably in a production or project management environment.
2. Proficiency in QM systems, ISO 9001 standards, and corporate quality system implementation.
3. Qualified to audit quality management systems and suppliers (ISO 19011, VDA 6.3).
4. Ability to prepare and analyze key quality reports based on KPIs for various stakeholders.
5. Experience applying continuous improvement methods (e.g., PDCA, Lean/Kaizen Green Belt, Six Sigma Green Belt) and resolving complex issues.
6. Leadership experience in managing intercultural quality teams and fostering a high-performance quality culture, with excellent communication and change management skills.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in German and English (C1 level).
