We are currently supporting one of our IT consultancy clients in Germany who are looking for an experienced Project / Service Manager to take end-to-end ownership of complex, production-critical IT services and transformation projects. This role sits at the heart of operations, governance, and innovation, managing large-scale IT landscapes with over 200 applications and playing a key role in building and evolving a 24/7 support organisation.
You will lead cross-functional teams, manage stakeholders at all levels, and ensure service stability while driving automation, AI initiatives, and continuous improvement.
Project / Service Manager – Key Responsibilities
* Plan, control, and successfully deliver complex IT projects across multiple workstreams (IT operations, AI development, communication, 2nd level support, etc.)
* Full end-to-end responsibility for production-critical IT services, ensuring stability, availability, and timely delivery
* Design and implement a 24/7 support organisation, including service design, monitoring, incident/problem management, and L1/L2/L3 alignment
* Act as the central point of contact for stakeholder and escalation management, facilitating decision-making and ensuring transparent communication
* Manage budget, performance, SLAs, KPIs, and contracts, with a strong focus on cost control and service optimisation
* Drive continuous improvement through automation, structured risk management, and process optimisation
Project / Service Manager – Key Skills Required
* Degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or a comparable qualification
* Strong professional experience in IT project management, ideally with exposure to IT service or operations management
* Passion for AI, automation, monitoring, and innovative technical solutions
* Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
* Proactive, structured, and comfortable working in complex, fast-paced environments
* Fluent German (C1/C2+) and English – written and spoken
