In our team you will develop and operate mission-critical ground data systems and advanced SatCom networking testbeds supporting human spaceflight operations at the Columbus Control Center.
Your main tasks will be:
1. Operate and maintain the Data Services System (DaSS), ensuring high availability, performance, and robustness in a 24/7 mission-critical environment supporting human spaceflight operations.
2. Monitor system behavior, diagnose complex faults across software, networking, and platform layers, and perform root cause analysis to ensure stable and reliable operations.
3. Design, implement, and operate SatCom networking testbeds to validate emerging technologies, high-rate data transfer protocols, and next-generation space networking concepts.
4. Evaluate and prototype advanced communication technologies (, optical communications, DTN concepts, CCSDS-based protocols) through experimentation and performance analysis.
5. Develop automation tools and scripts (, Bash, Python, Java, C/C++) supporting operations, monitoring, testing, and performance analysis activities.
6. Support system integration and verification campaigns while collaborating with external partners, maintaining technical documentation, and contributing to knowledge sharing within the Ground Control Team.
WHAT DO WE NEED IN OUR TEAM?
We are looking for graduates in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field with experience and interest in System Engineering, Networking, Embedded or Ground Systems.
If this position sounds like a perfect fit for you, here’s what we’re looking for in detail:
