WHAT TO EXPECT
You will represent the subject area of Technical Building Operations within our degree programmes, with a particular emphasis on ventilation and air conditioning. You will specialise in the planning, design and operation of HVAC systems, taking into account the current requirements to ensure that the room air is hygienically sound and healthy .
For you, the use of big data in building services engineering – for example, analysing operating data to optimise energy consumption – is standard practice in modern building engineering. You integrate these aspects into your teaching in a practical way, developing application-oriented formats.
Your research will focus on using large amounts of data to improve the efficiency of technical building systems, among other things. You will have access to state-of-the-art research facilities at the Technology Campus in Steinfurt.
In addition, you will play an active role in academic self-government and contribute to collegial interaction at the department.
YOUR BACKGROUND
Your expertise is based on a degree in engineering or science, ideally building engineering or a comparable subject, and a relevant recognised doctorate .
You have several years of practical professional experience in the area of the technical operation of buildings, at supporting engineering firms or in the relevant industrial environment .
You will teach your classes in both German and English – you are fluent in speaking and writing both languages.
Experience in academic teaching, ideally at university level, would be advantageous, as would initial leadership experience.
