You’ll roll your sleeves up to deep dive into your respective business area to learn all about what makes them tick, working alongside our heads of department you’ll proactively lead on all things people. This role will be supported by the VP People & Culture Middle Europe, who will support you in developing strategic business partnering skills. High challenge and high support are what this role is all about. Role responsibilities As a People & Culture Business Partner at Valtech you’ll be involved in a diverse range of tasks and responsibilities, including, but not limited to: Provide professional HR advice and support that aligns with both the business strategy and the broader People & Culture (P&C) agenda. Play a key role in ensuring that performance management, development, and succession are all aligned with the future business plans. Identify and drive opportunities to increase employee engagement across the organization. Recognize team behaviors that require support or development, and collaborate with stakeholders and P&C colleagues to foster positive transformation. Support the P&C administration and operations team to ensure excellence in execution and compliance with local German labor laws. Partner closely with stakeholders to influence and challenge people-related decisions and bring balance and conscience to decision making. Execute people processes effectively throughout the employee lifecycle and proactively look for opportunities for improvement as the organization scales. Collaborate with shared services teams to co-create and refine efficient, people-centric processes. Ensure accurate and up-to-date people data is maintained, and use insights to drive data-led decisions. Actively engage in initiatives, related to D&I, employee engagement and developing a strong, unified team culture. About You Within the People & Culture team at Valtech, we work collaboratively and with strong cohesion, acting as a strategic partner across the business. We believe People & Culture should lead the way in supporting our employee lifecycle, data management and embed in every team to help grow, support and retain our talent. In this role, we are looking for someone with strong intuition and exceptional interpersonal skills. Someone who is able to truly partner with our business areas with a genuine eagerness to learn and grow. We want you to be brave and dare to challenge the status quo, but we are also looking for people who are empathetic and caring, as kindness is at the heart of what we do. A solid commercial mindset and the ability to make informed decisions based on financial insights are essential. Adaptation is also key - you will need to be comfortable pivoting quickly as the business continues to grow and evolve. You will also have: Proven experience partnering with key stakeholders in a People/HR function, providing both challenge and support to drive effective outcomes. Strong project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading process improvement initiatives. Ability to quickly build positive relationships, trust and credibility. Experience in a fast paced, ever-changing business environment, such as high growth tech, PE/VC-backed organizations, where agility, responsiveness, and clear communication are essential. Fluency in both English and German languages Willingness and ability to travel to our Cologne office.
