GDIT has an exciting opportunity to participate in the Security Assistance Group – Ukraine (SAG-U) as a member of our Enterprise Mission Information Technology Services (EMITS) program supporting U.S. Army Europe and Africa’s (USAREUR-AF) mission in Wiesbaden Germany.
The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, planning, building, and maintaining the Network and hardening and maintaining the organization’s ex commercial network. They will also be responsible for planning and implementing major changes to core routing and switching infrastructure and major network modifications/expansions. In addition, the Network Engineer is responsible for learning new platforms, developing and deploying multi-tenant enabled solutions, and will be tasked with analyzing customer requirements and providing technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Network Engineer Senior, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of U.S. Army Europe and Africa’s (USAREUR-AF). You will play a crucial role in supplying mission command support.
* Provide support to other network issues that may impact the mission, to include modifying and supporting configuration changes.
* Work closely with systems and security teams to define requirements, monitor network traffic, and respond to anomalies or security concerns.
* Provide technical training, documentation, and technical assistance to Help Desk personnel and other organizations.
* Work closely with vendors to design and implement new systems.
* Maintain - and potentially acquire - the certifications necessary to meet evolving mission needs.
* Assist the team with procurement support as required (developing designs and initial bills of material (IBOMs).
* May require shift work or coverage during weekends and holidays.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your engineering expertise along with a drive for innovation to GDIT. The Network Engineer Senior must have:
* Education: High School Diploma/GED with 8 years of related Network Engineering experience, or Associate's Degree with 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree with 4 years of experience, or Master's Degree with 2 years of experience .
* Experience: 5+ years of related experience
* Technical skills: Knowledge and experience with Windows Server 2019 (DHCP, DNS, CA); Knowledge and experience with COMSEC multi-vendor taclane configuration and maintenance; Knowledge and experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) policies, administration, and upgrades; Knowledge and experience with Cisco Firepower Management Center (FMC) / Firepower Threat Defense (FTD); Knowledge and experience with Cisco Secure Network Analytics (SNA) / Netflow; Knowledge and experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM)
* Security clearance level: DoD Secret security clearance
* US citizenship required
* Role requirements: Experience designing and implementing routed networks in multi-enclave, multi-vendor environments requiring high availability; Ability to work individually and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment;
* This position may occasionally require some physical activity; lifting objects; bending; crouching down (i.e. to troubleshoot equipment); and long periods of sitting.
* Certifications: A CCNA or equivalent industry certification is required. An IAT level II certification or higher is required to meet DOD 8570 requirements.
* Must be eligible for German TESA.
Preferred Qualifications :
* Current CCNP Routing and Switching or CCNP Enterprise.
* Knowledge and experience with URL/Network filtering and Geo-Blocking.
* Knowledge and experience with VMWare.
* Knowledge and experience with routing, switching and encryption protocols (e.g. OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, Spanning Tree Protocol, ISAKMP, ESP, IPSEC, SDWAN etc.).
* Ability to develop complex network diagrams to support cyber security teams with accreditation activities including authorization boundaries, rack elevations, and flow charts.
* Understanding of ACL policies, Network Address Declarations (NAD), and ports/protocols services management (PPSM) to assist cyber security and engineers with boundary security implementations on routers and firewalls.
