Linux IT System Administrator
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Linux IT system administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration and development of our scientific computing infrastructure, as well as ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems.
* Key Responsibilities:
o Administration and conceptual development of scientific computing infrastructure
o Planning and implementation of patches, upgrades, and configuration adjustments
o Maintenance of system security and performance
o Setup and operation of server applications, virtual machines, and container-based applications
o Installation, maintenance, and administration of Linux workstations
o Support of bioinformatics software packages and laboratory information systems
o Technical documentation and management of existing software and hardware
o IT-side support for research and development projects
* Required Skills and Qualifications:
o Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, physics, or mathematics
o Excellent knowledge of Debian/Ubuntu or other Linux derivatives, common container technologies, and backup systems
o Experience with system hardening, access control frameworks, and rights management
o Basic knowledge of orchestration tools such as Ansible or Puppet
o Good written and spoken English skills
