In the Faculty IV: School of Science and Technology, Chemie-Biologie / Organische Chemie I, we are looking for a researcher as of the 01.10.2025 at the following conditions:
1. 50% = 19,92 hours
2. Pay grade 13 TV-L
3. limited till 09.06.2028

Your tasks:
4. Participation in the third-party funded project “Dual Stimuli Spin-Crossover Coordination Cages in Solution- Theory and Experiment”
5. Research in the field of supramolecular chemistry with the aim of obtaining a doctorate
6. Independent research and practical laboratory work including: the synthesis of organic ligands investigating the self-assembly of metal-organic cages the characterisation of metal-organic cages (e.g. NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, UV/vis spectroscopy) investigating the properties of the metal-organic cages (e.g. spin-crossover properties in solution, host-guest chemistry, photochemistry)
7. Collaboration with other scientists (e.g. in inter/national collaborations)
8. Participation in the preparation and editing of publications and progress reports
9. Participation in the day-to-day supervision of Bachelor and Master’s research projects
Your profile:
10. Above-average academic degree (Master or equivalent) in Chemistry
11. A Master's thesis in the field of supramolecular chemistry is an advantage, especially with aspects of organic synthesis, coordination chemistry and metal-organic cages
12. Experience with: organic ligand synthesis the synthesis of coordination complexes and metal-organic cages (particularly spin-crossover complexes and cages) the synthesis of air- and water-sensitive compounds in a glovebox the characterisation of supramolecular structures using spectroscopy (e.g. diamagnetic and paramagnetic NMR, UV/vis) and mass spectrometry investigating spin-crossover properties in solution (e.g. Evans method, VT measurements) photochemistry
13. Experience with/interest in interdisciplinary collaboration
14. Very good knowledge of English
15. Very good knowledge of German is an advantage
16. Participation in scientific exchanges (e.g. conferences) and/or publications is desirable
17. Experience in teaching, especially in the field of organic chemistry, is an advantage
