The Role: Join us as a Co-Founder & Head of Engineering, where you will lead the development and scaling of our core technology. You will be responsible for building robust AI-driven systems and establishing the technical foundation of the company.
This role offers a clear path to Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer (CTO) post-Series A, where you will shape long-term technology strategy and scale the engineering organization.
Your Path to Impact
Short Term (Head of Engineering):
* Design and implement scalable AI/ML systems and data infrastructure
* Lead the development of production-ready software from concept to deployment
* Establish engineering best practices (architecture, CI/CD, quality standards)
* Translate product and clinical requirements into robust technical solutions
Long Term (CTO Development):
* Define and drive the long-term technology vision and roadmap
* Scale and lead the engineering organization, including hiring and team structure
* Oversee development of advanced AI systems and platform capabilities
* Ensure compliance with healthcare standards and data regulations
* Represent Medirion in technical discussions with investors and partners
What You bring to the Team
Essential Qualifications:
* Degree in computer science, data science, AI, or a related field
* Strong experience in building AI/ML systems and data-driven applications (5+ years)
* Experience in computer vision, particularly in processing and analyzing medical or imaging data (2+ years)
* Proficiency in software engineering, system architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
* Experience with scalable system design and full development lifecycle
* Valid work permit in Germany (preferably unlimited)
Preferred Experience:
* Familiarity with healthcare data standards (HL7 FHIR, SNOMED, ICD, etc.)
* Experience with MLOps, model deployment, and large-scale data processing
* Exposure to regulatory environments (e.g. GDPR, MDR)
* Leadership experience or strong ambition to grow into a leadership role (5+ years)
* Understanding of agile methodologies and startup environments
