We are now looking for a seasoned and hands‑on Chief Technical Officer (CTO) to lead SWIFT’s global R&D function, succeeding our current R&D Manager who will retire at the end of the year.
With a team of engineers in Falkenberg, Sweden, and in Shanghai, China, you will play a central role in shaping the next generation of SWIFT products. Several exciting new development projects are already in the pipeline, and you will be responsible for driving both innovation and execution throughout the product development process.
As CTO, you will also become a key member of the company’s management team, contributing to SWIFT’s strategic direction and long‑term growth.
The role combines leadership with strong technical involvement. We are looking for someone who enjoys being deeply engaged in product development ‑ from architecture and engineering discussions to supplier collaboration and implementation.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and developing SWIFT’s global R&D function
* Driving electro‑mechanical product development projects
* Defining and overseeing system architecture across both hardware and software
* Managing relationships with selected consultants and suppliers
* Participating in strategic management and business development
* Supporting the company’s continued integration of AI within technical development and documentation processes
Qualifications
* Master of Science degree or equivalent technical education
* Proven leadership and people management skills
* Strong background in electro‑mechanical product development
* Strategic mindset and experience contributing to company direction and growth
* Entrepreneurial mindset, innovative, and curious personality
* Passion for technology and creating exceptional products
* Hands‑on approach combined with strong leadership capabilities
* Interest in technology outside of work is considered a plus — for example cars, motorcycles, boats, or similar technical hobbies
