Role Overview Mechanical Commissioning Engineer (m/f/d) plans, executes, and validates the commissioning of mechanical systems in data centre construction projects, ensuring installation, testing, and operation meet design specifications, safety standards, and client requirements. Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and manage multi-disciplinary project teams in accordance with commissioning plans, ensuring compliance with design standards, local codes, and industry best practices. Serve as the primary escalation point for all technical coordination and decision‑making within the commissioning scope. Develop and drive commissioning strategies and schedules aligned with the overall project program to achieve key milestones and successful project delivery. Oversee all commissioning arrangements, testing sequences, documentation, and progress tracking. Coordinate closely with project partners, client commissioning teams, and subcontractors to ensure seamless handover of systems and services. Close out all observations, non‑conformities, and commissioning‑related issues to client and organisational satisfaction. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Engineering (Chemical / Mechanical), Science & Technology, or related disciplines. Many years of experience in commissioning, including proven success in a senior commissioning or leadership role. Strong expertise in commissioning procedures, legal standards, and certification requirements. Demonstrated experience with commissioning of Data Centres or similarly complex technical environments. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with the project team and client representatives.
