About the Role We are a growing German digital marketing agency looking for an experienced Account Director based in Munich to lead our most important client relationships and guide a small team of account professionals. In this senior role, you will be responsible for the strategic direction, commercial success, and day-to-day excellence of our largest accounts, while also overseeing the performance and quality of delivery across additional client accounts. You will act as a trusted senior advisor to clients, a people leader internally, and a key contributor to the agency’s growth. This position is ideal for someone with deep agency experience, strong leadership capabilities, and a forward-looking mindset — including interest or experience in AI- and LLM-driven marketing solutions. What You’ll Do Client & Account Leadership Serve as senior strategic lead for our largest and most complex client accounts Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and act as the primary escalation point Develop a deep understanding of clients’ industries, business models, and marketing objectives Identify and drive opportunities for account growth, upselling, and long-term partnership development Oversee account strategy and performance across a broader portfolio of accounts to ensure consistency and quality Team Leadership & Collaboration Lead and develop a small team of Account Managers Set clear expectations, provide regular feedback, and support professional development Work closely with internal teams (media, SEO, content, development, analytics, strategy) to ensure aligned and effective delivery Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on client impact and business results Financial & Operational Ownership Own the financial health of assigned accounts, including revenue delivery, growth, and profitability Develop annual account plans that meet revenue and margin targets Oversee budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and quality assurance Monitor program KPIs and ensure performance meets agreed client objectives Strategy, Innovation & New Business Develop and present strategic marketing plans and recommendations to clients Support major new business initiatives, including pitches, RFP responses, and presentations Identify opportunities to integrate AI, automation, and LLM-powered tools into client strategies and internal workflows Act as a thought leader internally and externally through knowledge sharing, presentations, or industry participation What You’ll Bring Experience & Skills 5 years of experience in client services or account management within a digital, marketing, or advertising agency 3 years of experience managing complex digital marketing programs (e.g. SEO, SEM, Paid Media, Social, Content, Web, Analytics) 2 years of experience leading account teams, including budget and commercial responsibility Proven experience managing large, complex enterprise or multi-market accounts Strong strategic, project management, and problem-solving skills Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities High financial acumen with experience owning revenue, growth, and profitability Language & Market Requirements Native-level German (written and spoken) – mandatory Proficient business English (written and spoken) – Strong understanding of the German (DACH) market and client expectations Additional Qualifications ( Preferred ) Experience or strong interest in AI-driven marketing solutions, automation, or LLM applications (e.g. content generation, analytics, personalization, workflow optimization) Experience translating emerging technologies into tangible client value Work Model Hybrid role with three in-office days per week During the first three months (onboarding period), three in-office days per week are Remote-only work is not available for this position What You’ll Get Professional Growth: work and train with the Best Team in Performance Marketing (PMA awards, 2024) Collaborative Culture: Be part of a global organization that values enthusiasm, execution, curiosity, and courage.
