What to expect
The Advanced Information Processing Group aims at applying state-of-the-art theoretical results into real-world applications within information processing systems. The expertise of the group ranges from quantum error correction to Smart Data Management, exploring cutting-edge communication theories such as semantic communication and Age of Information, pushing the boundaries of data utilization and dissemination.
Your tasks
This thesis focuses on the design and optimization of the 3GPP NB-IoT physical layer for a low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite constellation. The research involves implementing the transmitter chain and developing advanced receiver algorithms tailored for small-packet transmissions in dense scenarios. Particular attention is given to addressing the challenges introduced by satellite channels, such as large Doppler shifts and propagation delays.
