Export Clerk (Air Freight & Sea Freight) Main Responsibilities:
●Acceptance of customer orders, including the review of documents in accordance with regulations and internal procedures
●Handling of export shipments from start to finish, primarily air freight, but also sea freight (FCL, LCL)
●Booking and reserving the required capacities with partners
●Export customs clearance (e.g. ATLAS, AES; customs goods, special customs procedures, etc.), where applicable
●Planning and scheduling of collections and transport in line with the relevant Incoterms
●Preparation of all relevant shipping documents
●Invoicing customers, as well as performing cost and price calculations
●Shipment tracking, identifying any deviations, and developing customer-focused solutions in the event of incidents
●Handling of complaints and claims for damages
●Communication with customers, customs authorities, partners, carriers, and overseas offices in Japanese, English, and German
●
Export Clerk (Air Freight & Sea Freight) Ideal Candidate:
●Successfully completed an apprenticeship as a freight forwarding and logistics services clerk, or possess equivalent qualifications
●Professional experience in export operations, with a preference for air freight
●Knowledge of export customs clearance processes is preferred
●Proficient in standard MS Office applications, as well as Atlas and CargoWise
●Strong commitment, a sense of responsibility, and the ability to work independently
●Excellent organisational skills, flexibility, strong communication and teamwork abilities, along with a customer- and service-oriented mindset
●Fluent in spoken and written Japanese, English, and German
