Role Description
Thi
s is a full-time hybrid role for an After-sales Service Engineer. The role is based in Stuttgart, but some work from home is acceptable. The After-sales Service Engineer will be responsible for troubleshooting, providing field service, and offering technical support. They will also handle maintenance and repair tasks, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction by delivering effective and timely solutions.
Responsibilities
− Provide technical support for after-sales service, including troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues related to vehicles, components, or systems reported by dealers, customers, or service centers.
− Conduct technical training for dealers, service technicians, and internal teams to enhance their proficiency in vehicle maintenance, repair procedures, and the use of diagnostic tools.
− Collaborate with the R&D, production, and quality control departments to feedback after-sales technical problems, assist in analyzing root causes, and propose improvement suggestions for product design or manufacturing processes.
− Develop and update technical documentation such as service manuals, repair guides, and troubleshooting flowcharts to standardize after-sales service operations.
− Participate in the evaluation and optimization of after-sales service processes, including the efficiency of fault diagnosis, parts supply, and customer complaint handling, to improve overall service quality and customer satisfaction.
− Monitor and track after-sales service data, such as failure rates, repair times, and customer feedback, conduct data analysis, and prepare regular reports for management.
− Assist in handling major after-sales incidents or product recall activities, including on-site technical support, communication with relevant parties, and implementation of solutions.
− Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies, industry standards, and competitor after-sales service models to continuously improve professional capabilities and service levels.
− Track service metrics (e.g., response time, resolution rate) and contribute to improving service efficiency and quality.
Qualifications
− Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
− Usually, 5-10 years of relevant work experience in the automotive industry is preferred. 4-5 years experience in automotive dealership service departments, vehicle diagnostic and repair, or in automotive R&D processes or automotive parts areas is an advantage.
− Have a good understanding of automotive electronics architectures, and be familiar with automotive communication buses such as CAN, CAN-FD, K-Line.
− Have knowledge of UDS (ISO14229), ECU software reflashing, configuration.
− Possess basic hardware knowledge, electrical schematics experience, and embedded software development experience, which are advantages.
− Be able to use office software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiently, and have good data analysis skills.
− Have excellent communication and coordination skills, including communication within the team and across departments.
− Be result-oriented, well-structured, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
− Enjoy learning new things and have a strong ability to absorb new information.
− Able to travel frequently or work overseas for a long time, and be able to adapt to different working environments and time zones.
− Fluent in English and German. Chinese speaking is a plus.
