Master Thesis (f/m/d) - Microsolvation in biological systems (Hybrid Work Option)
YOUR TASKS AND LEARNING AREAS
1. Development of workflows in the field of chemistry, specifically the placement of water molecules in protein ligand systems
2. Establishing and evaluating the FEBISS method on research relevant use cases
3. Building a valuable network of contacts in the research & development community at Bayer
4. Preparation of publications, presentations and documentation of your work
WHO ARE YOU
5. Enrolled as a master student in a natural science program (chemistry, chemical engineering, physics, or a comparable field)
6. Knowledge of computational chemistry and modeling, first acquaintance with statistical thermodynamics of solvation is an advantage
7. Experience in a programming language such as Python, ideally some familiarity with computational chemistry tools such as visualization (e.g. Pymol, Chimera), quantum mechanics (e.g. Orca) and molecular dynamic (e.g. Amber, Gromacs) software tools
8. You have a strong foundation in (bio)chemistry
9. Flexibility and ability to work in a structured and independent manner
10. Enjoy analyzing complex interrelationships and interdisciplinary questions
11. You were exposed to git and Linux before
