Responsibilities Serves as a Visual Information Specialist (Digital Designer) for mission-related productions. Develops communication concepts for project/product development focused on eBooks and digital learning materials. Creates overall visual effects through knowledge of typography, design elements, and visual placement. Adapts fundamental and specialized methods of visual communications for web-based and digital communication media and determines most effective format. Uses UI an UX design skills and creativity to identify, develop, and support trends in visual media technology, 3D animation, web applications, graphic design tools, streaming media and digital video. A qualified candidate must possess the following: Graduate or undergraduate education which included a major course of study in graphic design, interactive design, digital media, architecture, visual communication or other fields related to this position, -OR- At least one year of professional experience in electronic publishing, illustration, interactive media, and 3D modeling. This experience must have demonstrated strong technical communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills (i.e., collaborating web developers to develop strategies; communicating with IT professionals to address hardware/software issues; conducting user research to analyze and improve design quality; working with management to develop content; etc.).Experience must have been at a level that provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for successful performance in this position. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": A bachelor's degree or higher in a closely related discipline, or Experience demonstrating advanced skill in HTML/Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), and related desktop publishing software applications such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, or similar. Work experience with Google Analytics, Chartbeat or a similar platform for analyzing and reporting social media or website performance metrics to identify emerging trends, optimize engagement, and support strategic communication objectives. Professional experience writing and/or editing copy for print, web, or social media in accordance with Associated Press (AP) style guidelines.
