The Tübingen Faculty of Medicine and University Hospital are part of the University of Excellence Tübingen. They provide medical services at the highest level and cover the entire spectrum of modern medicine, research, teaching and clinical care.
The Department of Ophthalmology is one of the leading ophthalmology centers in Europe. It combines excellent clinical care at the University Eye Hospital with innovative cutting-edge research at the Institute of Ophthalmic Research (FIA) and thus combines pioneering basic research with clinical translation in order to optimally bring new diagnostic procedures and therapeutic approaches into clinical application.

These include in particular the Neurosensory Center, the Center for Integrative Neurosciences (CIB) and the Tübingen Neuro Campus in general, as well as the Gene and RNA Therapy Center (GRTC). The dedicated participation in the development of new research projects and active involvement in collaborative projects within and outside the Faculty of Medicine are expected, e.g. in the context of Collaborative Research Centers and Research Groups, the German Centers for Health Research, the Center for Personalized Medicine as well as the Clusters of Excellence at the University of Tübingen.
In the field of teaching, we expect extensive and outstandingly evaluated teaching experience and commitment, in particular with regard to innovative curricula in the degree programs of the Faculty of Medicine as well as active contributions to lectures and other teaching formats and under consideration of modern, practice-oriented teaching methods.
The position has a teaching commitment of nine hours per week during the semester.
