Evotec, a global leader in Neuroscience innovation, is seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Vice President of Neuroscience to spearhead the continued growth and success of our groundbreaking Neuroscience research programs. As a central member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping and advancing our efforts in neurodegenerative, neurodevelopmental, and psychiatric disorders.
Evotec’s Neuroscience comprises world-class scientists focused on discovering transformative therapies in Neuroscience. Our long-term recently extended partnership with BMS is a testament to our commitment to pioneering Neuroscience advancements. Through large-scale PanOmics studies on human brain tissue (including single-cell transcriptomics and CSF/plasma proteomics) and the use of complex iPSC models, we identify new therapeutic targets and drive innovative drug discovery efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership: Provide high-level strategic support tothe Head ofNeuroscience in establishing and leading large-scale, innovative external collaborationsthatleverageEvotec’siPSC, PanOmics, and integrated R&D platforms.
2. Scientific Management: Oversee and guidethe BMS-Evotec collaboration, fromprogram design and development toexecution, spanningphenotypic and target-basedprogramsacross >15 neurodegenerative projects (fromdiscoverythrough IND, utilizingmodalitiesincludingsmallmolecules, ASOs, and biologics).
3. Thought Leadership: Act as representative of Evotec Neuroscience, forging relationships with internal and external stakeholders and establishing new partnerships to elevate our research impact and reach.
4. Portfolio Expansion: Identify and pursueearly-stage licensing and partnershipopportunitiestoexpand and complement internal neuroscience initiatives.
5. Technology Innovation: Drive the development and integrationofnoveltechnologyplatformsfor CNS drugdiscovery, enhancingEvotec’scapabilities in addressingcomplexneurologicalconditions.
Ideal Qualifications:
6. Advanced Academic Background: Ph.D. in Neuroscienceor a relatedfield such asBiology, Chemistry, Medicine, orPharmacology.
7. Deep Neuroscience Expertise: Extensive knowledgeofthemechanismsunderlying neurodegenerative, neurodevelopmental, and psychiatricdisorders, with a demonstratedhistoryofsuccess in thesefields.
8. Proven Industry Track Record: 10+ yearsofNeuroscience R&D experience in drugdiscovery and development, fromtargetidentificationtoclinical PoC, withinthebiotechorpharmaceuticalindustry.
9. Versatile Therapeutic Experience: Proficiency in varioustherapeuticmodalities, includingsmallmolecules, antibodies, and ASOs, withhands-on experience in applyingadvancedmethodologies in CNS drugdiscovery.
10. Technological Leadership: Strong background in implementingcutting-edgedrugdiscoverytechnologies such asiPSC, PanOmics, CRISPR, and data-drivenapproaches.
11. Global Recognition & Network: Recognizedleader in theneurosciencecommunitywith an established international network ofacademic and industrypartnerships.
12. Cross-Disciplinary Team Leadership: Experience leading and mentoringcross-functional teams todriveforwardambitiousscientificobjectives.
