Position summary We are seeking a Certification & Data Compliance Lead to define, document, and negotiate product requirements related to certification, configuration, data management, and engineering processes for all Jeppesen ForeFlight EFB products. You will develop and implement compliance and configuration-control plans, monitor adherence to regulatory and contractual requirements, conduct audits and reviews, and work with cross-functional teams and regulators worldwide. Key responsibilities Lead definition, documentation, and negotiation of product requirements for certification, configuration management, data and data management, and engineering processes for EFB products. Focus is on EASA compliant EFB products, and on other (non-FAA) compliance requirements. Develop, document, and implement compliance plans, integrated process architectures, product structure definitions, and data management processes to ensure products meet technical, regulatory, and company requirements. Audit documentation configuration control across releases and product variants; participate in product and release planning. Track and report compliance and configuration metrics; conduct audits, gap analyses, and reviews to verify adherence to regulatory, data, and contractual requirements. Serve as the primary regulatory consultant for EFB topics and an advisor on broader regulatory issues across portfolios. Collaborate with product managers, engineering, QA, data teams, and other regulatory focal points to align product scope, requirements, and timelines. Engage proactively with global regulators (FAA, EASA, and others) to clarify interpretations, negotiate approaches, and help shape future regulatory frameworks. Mentor and lead cross-functional contributors on certification/compliance activities; work under consultative direction and lead others when needed. Required qualifications Comprehensive understanding of aviation regulatory structures with demonstrated familiarity with FAA and EASA frameworks. Proven experience defining certification requirements and handling operational approvals for avionics or EFB-related products. Experience with configuration management, change control, and product structure definition for software-enabled aviation products. Nine or more years of related aviation navigation data management or information display experience. Five or more years reviewing and interpreting industry standards. Strong stakeholder-management and negotiation skills: experience interacting with regulators, customers, and internal engineering/product teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present technical/regulatory positions clearly to diverse audiences. Demonstrated ability to translate product features into formal certification requirements and to handle products that do not require formal certification. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, aviation, or related field, or equivalent experience. Preferred qualifications Direct experience with Jeppesen, ForeFlight, or other EFB products and ecosystems. Prior experience developing certification/compliance plans for software-driven avionics or commercial aerospace products. Familiarity with aviation data standards and data configuration processes. Experience conducting audits, readiness reviews, and metrics-based compliance reporting. Advanced degree, relevant certifications, or regulatory liaison experience.
