* Master's or PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related discipline.
* Strong practical experience in protein purification, particularly from native or human-derived sources.
* Proven expertise with chromatography systems (FPLC, HPLC) and protein characterization methods.
* Experience managing laboratory workflows or production activities.
* Strong troubleshooting skills and solution-driven mindset.
* Ability to balance hands-on lab work with organizational responsibilities.
* Very good English communication skills (German is an advantage).

Your tasks
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Leader for Native Protein Purification to oversee and develop our purification activities focused on proteins isolated from human sources.
This position combines hands-on scientific expertise with production oversight and strategic development. The successful candidate will take ownership of purification workflows, ensure reliable production, and continuously improve processes while remaining open to innovative approaches and new technologies.
Key Responsibilities
* Scientific & Technical Leadership
o Lead the purification of native proteins from human-derived materials using advanced chromatographic techniques (affinity chromatography, ion exchange, size exclusion, hydrophobic interaction, FPLC, HPLC).
o Design, optimize, and scale purification workflows to ensure high purity, yield, and reproducibility.
o Establish and refine analytical methods including SDS-PAGE, Western blotting, spectrophotometry, and mass spectrometry.
o Evaluate and implement new purification technologies and strategies to enhance efficiency and quality.
* Production Management
o Oversee day-to-day purification activities and ensure consistent, high-quality protein production.
o Plan production schedules, allocate resources, and monitor timelines.
o Ensure proper preparation and quality control of buffers, reagents, and equipment.
o Maintain compliance with safety, documentation, and regulatory standards.
o Ensure meticulous record-keeping and batch documentation.
* Team Coordination & Collaboration
o Supervise and mentor technical staff involved in purification activities.
o Foster a collaborative and solution-oriented working environment.
o Act as a key contact person for protein-related projects within the organization.
o Contribute ideas for expanding and strengthening the protein purification platform.
