Central Technical Services – Furnace Engineer (m/f/d)Ardagh Glass Packaging – EuropeJob DescriptionThe jobholder manages furnace rebuilding projects in any of our European Ardagh plants from a conceptual stage through engineering and implementation to commissioning.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and assess rebuilding options to achieve technical, environmental and commercial requirementsPrepare a detailed furnace specificationCarry out cost and materials estimates, to develop a project budget and control costs throughout the projectCarry out the technical part of the procurement process for contracting engineering and site servicesManage the furnace engineering process and participate in the project teamwork during the planning phase including frequent visits and on-site meetingsSupervise and manage site works during the actual rebuild on-site supervising contractors and coordinating interfaces with other project areasSupervise and manage heat-up, commissioning, hot insulation, performance tests, snagging items till hand-over to the factoryKeep abreast of developments on furnace technology in general and throughout the Group and contribute to Group knowledge and understandingAdhere to and always enforce all Health and Safety regulations and policiesPromote the development and implementation of best practice/standardized furnace design across the companyLead the development and delivery of energy efficiency innovations to drive competitive advantage for ArdaghRequirementsMaster of science, Certified engineer, or -technician in glass technology, glass production, civil or mechanical engineering or similar qualifications are expectedProject management experienceExperience of supervising a team and contractorsMinimum of 3-5 years job experience in mentioned fieldsGood English language skillsCommunication and problem resolution skillsDriving licenseBased in Germany, but the general commitment for business trips has to be available, also for unscheduled travel in case of problemsWhat We OfferA workplace in a globally successful company where safety is the top priorityA competitive salaryTraining and development for career progressionOption for hybrid workingGood career and development prospectsInterested or any questions left?Then we are looking forward to your online application Please contact Friederike Müller in the HR Department for further questions under the telephone number /85-761.About Ardagh GroupArdagh Group is a global leader in metal and glass packaging solutions, producing packaging for the world's leading brands.
