At our Health & Pharma Solutions (HPS) manufacturing sites in Stade and Walsrode we produce high-quality methylcellulose products for food, pharmaceutical and industrial applications. In this exciting working environment, we are looking for our next Plant Controller (f,m,d).
As Plant Controller you will play a critical role in supporting financial management and reporting for the plant. In this position you are responsible for monthly analysis and follow-up of plant costs, preparation of forecasts and ad hoc reports, and ensuring the integrity of financial and operational data. You will work closely with plant leadership and cross-functional teams to provide insightful financial analysis and support business decision-making.
Your Key Responsibilities
1. Monthly Analysis & ReportingAnalyze and monitor fixed, variable, and MPE (Manufacturing, Production, and Engineering) cost monthly.Prepare and distribute monthly forecasts and ad-hoc cost reports.Conduct variance analysis and identify business drivers impacting plant performance.
2. Budgeting & ForecastingSupport the annual plant Profit Objective preparation and ongoing financial planning.Conduct cost simulations for different scenarios, including changes in production or materials.Provide timely and accurate information to plant management and group.
3. Cost Management & Process ImprovementReview unit prices for materials manufactured and maintain Material Master Data accuracy.Run standard and actual cost estimates; identify areas for cost optimization.Coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure the accuracy of process orders and inventory data.
4. Business PartneringWork closely with Plant Manager and plant leadership to identify opportunities for business improvement.Your role includes influencing decisions and helping the business move in the right direction by actively driving changeProvide support to non‑finance colleagues by translating financial information into clear, practical guidance they can use in their daily decisions.Provide ongoing guidance and support to non-finance personnel on accounting matters, accruals, and financial processes.
5. Internal Controls & ComplianceEnsure strong SOX controls at the plant by maintaining compliant processes, monitoring key controls, and supporting audits to guarantee accuracy and integrity in financial reportingServe as point of contact for internal and external audits.Perform or support account reconciliations as needed.
6. Project InvolvementParticipate in finance projects and initiatives impacting plant operations.Contribute to the implementation of new financial processes, systems, and best practices.
Your Qualifications and Competencies
7. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
8. Minimum 5 years of experience in a controlling, finance or accounting role, in a manufacturing or plant environment in Germany.
9. Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and advanced Excel skills.
10. Knowledge of internal controls (SOX), cost accounting, and inventory management.
11. Advanced proficiency in SAP, BW, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI (desired).
12. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data.
13. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Englisch and German; ability to interact and network effectively with all levels of the organization.
14. Strong prioritization and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
15. Demonstrated ability to work both independently at the plant and as part of a global team.

Als Plant Controller übernehmen Sie eine zentrale Rolle bei der Unterstützung des finanziellen Managements und Reportings des Werks. Ihre Hauptaufgaben

17. Analyse und Überwachung der fixen, variablen sowie der MPE‑Kosten (Manufacturing, Production & Engineering) auf monatlicher Basis
18. Erstellung und Verteilung monatlicher Forecasts sowie Ad-hoc-Kostenberichte
19. Durchführung von Abweichungsanalysen und Identifikation der wesentlichen Treiber der Werksperformance
20. Budgetierung & Forecasting
21. Unterstützung bei der Erstellung des jährlichen Profit Objectives des Werks sowie der laufenden Finanzplanung
22. Durchführung von Kostensimulationen für unterschiedliche Szenarien, z. B. bei Änderungen in der Produktion oder bei Materialien
23. Bereitstellung zeitnaher und präziser Informationen für das Werksmanagement und die Gruppe
24. Kostenmanagement & Prozessverbesserung
25. Überprüfung der Stückpreise für selbst hergestellte Materialien und Sicherstellung der Datenqualität im Materialstamm
26. Durchführung von Standard- und Ist-kalkulationen sowie Identifikation von Optimierungspotenzialen
27. Enge Abstimmung mit dem Supply-Chain-Team zur Sicherstellung korrekter Prozessaufträge und Bestandsdaten
28. Business Partnering
29. Enge Zusammenarbeit mit dem Anlagenleiter sowie dem Anlagen-Leadership Team zur Identifikation von Verbesserungspotenzialen
30. Aktive Einflussnahme auf Entscheidungen und Unterstützung des Unternehmens bei Veränderungen
31. Unterstützung von Nicht‑Finance‑Kollegen durch verständliche und praxisnahe Aufbereitung finanzieller Informationen für deren tägliche Entscheidungen
32. Laufende Beratung von Nicht‑Finance‑Mitarbeitern zu buchhalterischen Fragestellungen, Rückstellungen und Finanzprozessen
33. Interne Kontrollen & Compliance
34. Sicherstellung robuster SOX‑Kontrollen im Werk durch regelkonforme Prozesse, Überwachung zentraler Kontrollen und Unterstützung von Audits zur Gewährleistung korrekter und zuverlässiger Finanzberichterstattung
35. Ansprechpartner/in für interne und externe Prüfungen
36. Durchführung bzw. Unterstützung von Kontenabstimmungen nach Bedarf
37. Projektmitarbeit
38. Mitwirkung an Finanzprojekten und Initiativen mit Einfluss auf die Werksprozesse
39. Beitrag zur Implementierung neuer Finanzprozesse, Systeme und Best Practices
Ihre Qualifikationen und Kompetenzen
40. Abgeschlossenes Bachelorstudium in Rechnungswesen, Finanzen, Betriebswirtschaft oder einem vergleichbaren Fachgebiet
41. Mindestens 5 Jahre Berufserfahrung im Controlling, Finanz‑ oder Rechnungswesen, idealerweise in einer produzierenden Betrieb in Deutschland
42. Erfahrung mit ERP‑Systemen (bevorzugt SAP) sowie sehr gute Excel‑Kenntnisse
43. Kenntnisse in internen Kontrollen (SOX), Kostenrechnung und Bestandsmanagement
44. Sehr gute Kenntnisse in SAP, BW, Excel, PowerPoint und Power BI (von Vorteil)
45. Ausgeprägte analytische und problemlösende Fähigkeiten sowie die Fähigkeit, komplexe Finanzdaten verständlich aufzubereiten und zu kommunizieren
