The role
We are seeking a driven and capable UAV Mechanical Engineer ready to take on their first significant responsibilities in the field of unmanned systems. You will play a crucial role in the integration of hardware for our advanced unmanned air vehicles (UAVs), bridging the gap between design and real-world implementation. This role is ideal for an engineer with 1-3 years of experience, eager to leverage their foundational knowledge and contribute to a fast-paced, innovative environment.
The day-to-day
* Own the design and integration of mechanical components and assemblies, working closely with the engineering team.
* Perform structural and thermal analyses as part of the design cycle.
* Troubleshoot hardware integration issues and implement corrective actions.
* Create and maintain detailed engineering documentation, including assembly instructions, test reports, and component specifications.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, systems) to resolve integration challenges.
* Participate in design reviews and contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM) considerations.
You should apply if you
* Have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related Engineering field.
* Possess 1-3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in a hardware integration or development role.
* Are proficient in using CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, etc.).
* Have a solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing methods.
* Demonstrate a proactive approach, urgency, and ability to deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have
* Experience designing and/or operating UAVs.
* Experience with hardware integration in defense & security or related industries.
* Familiarity with FEA tools and analysis techniques.
* Experience with prototyping and fabrication techniques.
* Experience with creating and managing BOMs.
