Overview
KW Technology Center GmbH (formerly known as BHC GmbH), Bremerhaven, is part of Hedin Group, a large family-owned group with a strong European footprint. Operating in the automotive sector, the business combines the role of an importer, especially for Dodge and RAM vehicles, with unique expertise in vehicle conversion and homologation. This creates a distinctive positioning at the intersection of international imports and technical value creation, making the company an important player in the European automotive landscape. The company’s annual turnover is about 10 Mio EUR with an average FTE of around 80.
Following a personal transition of the current incumbent, the position of the (sole) Managing Director (m/f/d) has become vacant and is to be filled at short notice. The Managing-Director-role is responsible for the GmbH’s overall operations and success, overseeing the entire business as well as P&L accountability. At the same time, the role is supported by strong counterparts, particularly in Finance and Production, and reports to the group leadership level.
Responsibilities
* Lead a technical business unit with full accountability for overall operations and performance.
* Manage and develop a diverse workforce engaged in hands-on technical value creation, including conversion, homologation, and related workshop activities.
* P&L responsibility for the business.
* Safeguard smooth daily operations while preparing the organization for future growth and increased volumes.
* Represent the business towards group management and external partners, building trustful relationships across multiple stakeholder levels.
* Strengthen processes and efficiency while maintaining a people-focused leadership culture.
Requirements
* Proven experience with holistic P&L responsibility in a technical value-added environment, e.g. advanced workshop, conversion/homologation center, small-series production, or comparable machine-building structures.
* Demonstrated success in leading diverse teams (including blue-collar colleagues) in a hands-on production environment, e.g. from automotive refinements, security vehicle conversions, specialized technical workshops.
* Solid automotive background or closely related value creation experience, ideally experience within a corporate group setting.
* Strong stakeholder management skills, including group-level reporting and external customer interaction.
* Process-oriented mindset, with evidence of efficiency improvements (Lean, Six Sigma or similar), combined with a down-to-earth, people-centric leadership style.
* Fluent in German and English.
* Willingness to be based in Bremerhaven.
