Senior Expert in Protection & Resilience (m/f/d) at Allianz SE
Who will you join?
Cyber threats, geopolitical shifts, operational failures — the question is not if disruptions will hit, but how well a global organization is prepared. At Allianz, our Group Protection & Resilience department owns that answer. For our global team in Munich, we are looking for a Senior Operational Resilience Expert who will shape how one of the world's largest financial services groups stays resilient.
What does that mean? You connect the disciplines that keep a global organization running under pressure: Business Continuity Management, threat assessments, crisis management, security operations. You bridge protection — identifying threats and assessing risks — with resilience: making sure critical processes continue or recover fast when disruptions hit.
You design the frameworks that ensure Allianz, across all its entities worldwide, is not just reacting to crises but systematically prepared for them. Whether your background is in financial services, consulting, tech or another industry — if you have built resilience capabilities at scale, this role gives you the platform to do it at a global level
How can you make an impact?
By owning these five areas end-to-end:
1.) Framework & Strategy
You own the design and implementation of the governance framework for operational resilience — covering risk assessments, critical process identification, resilience plans and recovery strategies, shaped by regulatory requirements such as DORA and NIS2. You ensure this framework integrates with incident management and crisis management across the Group Protection & Resilience organization, and you drive alignment with local and regional entities as part of the global steering function. You also shape the end-to-end operating model for the resilience lifecycle — including AI-supported governance and integrated IT solutions.
2.) Project Management & Implementation
You identify areas for action across the Protection & Resilience domains and turn them into structured projects — from scoping and budgeting through to resource allocation. You manage these projects end-to-end — from threat mitigations to the rollout of IT tools — and you are accountable for delivering measurable results.
3.) Monitoring, Testing & Risk Control
You monitor the organization's operational resilience on an ongoing basis — through regular assessments, testing and exercising of resilience plans, and by identifying and closing gaps. Your monitoring feeds directly back into the governance framework, ensuring it stays current and effective. You establish and maintain the corresponding risk and control system, applying an integrated approach across all Protection & Resilience functions, and ensure its connection to the overarching Non-Financial Risk Management framework (NFRM) of the second Line of Defense.
4.) Centre of Excellence & Incident, Emergency & Crisis Management
You act as the centre of excellence for operational resilience, with particular ownership of Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Operational Threat Oversight. You conduct threat assessments to identify risks to Allianz operations, assets and personnel, and you develop strategies to mitigate them — including the steering of quarterly threat campaigns across local entities to build consolidated threat heatmaps. You actively support incident and crisis responses as part of our dedicated response teams, ensuring a fast, structured reaction across the organization — and you lead exercises that continuously strengthen preparedness.
5.) Community, Training & Communication
You coordinate the global expert community and tooling user groups in close alignment with the broader Protection & Resilience community, driving best-practice sharing and ad-hoc information exchange across all domains. You design and deliver trainings for Allianz managers and employees worldwide, using multiple media formats. You serve as the key interface between internal stakeholders, senior management, auditors, regulators and external industry forums — and you keep the organization informed on the latest regulatory changes, technological developments and market best practices.
