Shiftmove is on a mission to transition from a decentralized group of companies into a unified, high-performance Global Finance & Accounting function.

To get there, we’re building a group-first accounting engine, with strong General Ledger ownership, clean intercompany, reliable close routines, and audit-ready documentation across entities. As Record to Report Manager, you will lead the teams and the technical execution that make this possible. Your success is defined by your ability to drive a cultural and operational shift: moving teams away from legacy local workflows toward standardized group processes, an IFRS-first mindset, and modern tooling (NetSuite).


Your Challenge

Our accounting environment has multiple legal entities, high workloads, and increasing expectations for speed, quality, and compliance. We need someone who can stabilize and professionalize month-end and year-end close, raise the bar on accounting quality and balance sheet integrity, and make intercompany a predictable, well-governed process.

This role is not a high-level finance generalist position. You will spend a meaningful portion of your time providing hands-on technical guidance, unblocking complex close topics, and coaching teams to adopt group standards, so audits run smoothly and issues close fast.


Key responsibilities

* Own the Close (GL leadership): Stabilize and continuously improve month-end and year-end close across entities.
* Intercompany Excellence: Design and run group-wide intercompany processes. Ensure IC mismatches are surfaced early, resolved fast, and do not derail the close.
* Audit readiness & internal controls: Own audit preparedness by strengthening documentation, evidence, and controls.
* The IFRS Pivot: Lead the operational transition from "Local GAAP first" reporting to an IFRS-first model, ensuring teams perform primary bookings in IFRS while managing local adjustments for tax and statutory needs.
* Systems Transformation: Act as a champion for our group-wide migration from legacy systems (DATEV, Sage) to NetSuite, ensuring teams are trained, motivated, and supported through the transition.
* Change Leadership: Transform the mindset of the DACH and French accounting teams, fostering an environment where innovation and technical proficiency are celebrated rather than avoided.
* Process Standardization: Define and implement standardized group-wide processes for the Chart of Accounts, General Ledger, period-end closing, and intercompany eliminations.
* Operational Excellence: Ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting to support group-wide decision-making and meet all regulatory requirements.
* Collaboration: Partner closely with the Finance Systems, IFRS & Consolidation team to align operational bookings with corporate reporting and audit standards.


Who you are

* Core accounting leader: You have deep, practical ownership of the General Ledger, close, and balance sheet in a multi-entity environment. You’re comfortable going into the detail to solve problems and coach others.
* Change-oriented leader: not a “caretaker” accountant, someone who enjoys moving people and processes from Point A to Point B.
* Tech-savvy: comfortable leveraging finance systems; NetSuite experience is a strong plus, but the adoption mindset matters most.
* Strong technical foundation: Deep understanding of IFRS and HGB (German GAAP), with the ability to translate complex principles into operational reality across international entities.
* Resilient & empathetic: able to navigate resistance, create clarity, and build momentum in demanding environments.
* International mindset: confident leading across cultures, especially in DACH and France.
* Languages: Fluency in German (min. C1) and English, as these serve as the company languages
