What are your responsibilities?
1. In this role, the focus is on building and maintaining a reliable data foundation that supports analytics and business decision-making across the organization.
2. A major part of the work involves designing and maintaining robust data pipelines that collect, transform, and integrate data from a wide range of internal and external sources.
3. Developing scalable and well-structured data models is key to enabling fast analysis and efficient reporting for management and business teams.
4. Automation plays an important role in the data environment. Using tools such as KNIME, data integration and transformation workflows are continuously improved and automated to reduce manual work and increase efficiency.
5. Another important aspect of the role is identifying opportunities to improve data architecture, workflows, and processing performance in order to make the data platform more scalable and reliable.
6. Ensuring high data quality is essential. This includes monitoring data pipelines, identifying inconsistencies, and resolving issues before they impact reporting or analysis.
7. The position works closely with analysts, business stakeholders, and other technical teams to translate business needs into scalable and practical data solutions.
8. As a senior member of the team, the role also contributes to knowledge sharing, best practices, and the further development of the data engineering setup within the organization.
9. Clear documentation of data models, pipelines, and automation processes is expected to ensure transparency and long-term maintainability.
What skill set do you bring with you?
10. A degree in computer science, business informatics, or a related field.
11. 4+ years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a comparable data-focused role.
12. Strong experience working with MSSQL databases and advanced SQL skills.
13. Hands-on experience with KNIME for building and maintaining data workflows and Data Apps is essential, ideally in a production or business environment. Alternatively, experience with Microsoft Power Apps is an advantage.
14. Experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration processes.
15. Solid programming skills for data processing and automation (e.g., Python, java script, or similar languages).
16. Strong understanding of data modelling, data pipeline architecture, and scalable data processing.
17. Experience in automation and optimization of data workflows.
18. Ability to translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions.
19. Strong collaboration and communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
20. Fluent German and good English skills.
21. Experience in the media or advertising industry is a plus.
