In your role as a member of this team you will actively support the manifold activities coming along with the project business of Siemens Energy’s GS Solutions. The world is currently facing a transition of the energy market that is characterized by an increasing energy demand, and you will take responsibility for a broad variety of complex contractual matters in this exciting environment. Your primary task is the contractual support in the field of commercial contracts during the execution of national and international large-scale projects (EPC) by means of analyzing contracts, identifying contractual risks, drafting and negotiating agreements, and advising and supporting project and site management to tackle the challenges arising in large project business. How You’ll Make an Impact
1. Provide advice and support to project and site management during execution of customer contracts, consortium agreements, and sub-contracts to protect Siemens Energy’s rights and entitlements
2. Support contractual and commercial matters, including claim and change order processes as well as reviewing and drafting relevant correspondence
3. Identify technical, commercial, and contractual aspects to establish project-specific claim strategies and support pursuing and defending incoming and outgoing claims
4. Contribute to claim management through collection and evaluation of project records, documentation, and relevant facts, including support in settlement negotiations
5. Collaborate with legal teams by substantiating cause-and-effect relationships to demonstrate entitlement to claims, extensions of time, or defenses in arbitration/ADR
6. Supervise or perform quantum and delay analyses to establish causation for events impacting project schedule and scope of work
What You Bring
7. Long-term experience in contract and claim management, contract analysis, drafting and/or legal experience, or relevant legal/commercial academic background with experience in large-scale projects
8. Strong knowledge of international EPC and construction contracts ( FIDIC, Orgalime, NEC, MF1)
9. Ability to work collaboratively with project, site, and legal teams
10. Fluent English and German negotiation skills; additional languages are a plus
11. Experience working in international teams and with international contractual partners
12. Academic degree in a technical field, business administration, law, or quantity surveying, combined with knowledge in valuation and scheduling/project controls and willingness to travel
