Head of Labour Law
Location: Stuttgart, Germany
Our client is seeking a senior-level Labour Law expert to take full ownership of employment legal matters in Germany. This is a high-impact, individual contributor role with no team management responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as the sole legal expert on German labour and employment law.
* Advise leadership and HR on employee relations, compliance, contracts, and disputes.
* Draft and negotiate employment agreements and works council arrangements.
* Oversee external counsel and manage litigation or regulatory issues.
* Ensure compliance with German labour laws and provide risk-based guidance.
* Monitor legal changes and translate them into practical business actions.
* Represent the company in dealings with works councils and regulatory bodies.
Requirements:
* Fully qualified German lawyer (Zweites Staatsexamen) with 7–10+ years of experience.
* Strong expertise in German labour and employment law (including works councils).
* In-house or top-tier law firm background preferred.
* Business-savvy, pragmatic, and confident working independently.
* Fluent in German and English.
