We are continuing to expand our team and are looking to fill the position of Avionics System Engineer (m /f/d) .
Your mission
* Detailed avionics architecture for a two-stage winged hypersonic spaceplane using aviation, military and/or space standards
* Responsible for data handling, bus systems, sensor integration and electronics design
* Implementing control laws on embedded hardware
* Technical evaluation of electrical power subsystem for generation, storage and distribution of electrical power in the aircraft
* Integration of telemetry system into the spaceplane structure
* On-board data handling using off-the shelf hardware and on-board flight software
* Manage the electrical and data interfaces between sensors and components
* Support in flights campaigns for system and subsystem tests for certification of the airplane
Your profile
* Successfully completed aerospace, electrical or similar engineering degree (M.Sc./M.Eng.)
* Knowledge of avionics standards and protocols (military, space and aviation)
* 3-4 years of experience as aircraft avionics engineer in a reputed aerospace company desirable
* Inter-disciplinary knowledge across various aerospace engineering fields
* Excellent analytical and interdisciplinary skills
* fluent English, German desirable
* Proactive mindset, high level of motivation, flexibility, perseverance, and ability to work in a team
* Startup mentality
* Experience in managing small teams (size 3-5 people) preferred

The German aerospace start-up POLARIS Raumflugzeuge GmbH is developing a revolutionary reusable space launch and hypersonic transport system that operates like an aircraft.
Based on more than 30 years of German and European spaceplane research, the development of the spaceplane AURORA began at the German Aerospace Center DLR. Aurora combines aircraft and rocket launcher technologies with a unique vehicle design, and offers a game-changing economic viability as well as opening the door for routine low-cost and safe access to space.
In order to validate the technology and accelerate the spaceplane development, POLARIS has been developing a series of scaled flight demonstrators.
