Role Description
As a Senior Design Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for designing and analyzing digital and analog circuits used in the development of memory products. We are engaged in developing groundbreaking silicon-to-systems solutions – right from technology development and advanced memory designs to product development, systems design and validation resulting in world class memory solutions.
In this position, you will collaborate with Micron’s various design and verification teams all over the world and support the efforts of groups such as Product Engineering, Test, Probe, Process Integration, Assembly and Marketing to proactively design products that optimize all manufacturing functions and assure the best cost, quality, reliability, time-to-market, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Develop and simulate RTL code using Verilog or VHDL, followed by synthesis, constraint definition, and static timing analysis (STA).
Drive physical design implementation including floor-planning, placement, and routing, ensuring efficient and manufacturable layouts.
Lead AI application enablement and semi-custom implementation efforts to accelerate innovation in future memory generations.
Collaborate across design, CAD, modeling, and verification teams to improve design quality and adopt best-practice methodologies.
Partner with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Probe, Assembly, Test, Process Integration, and Product Engineering to ensure robust product development.
Minimum Qualifications
Holding a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field - or equivalent experience.
Solid understanding of digital logic design and RTL coding, including timing constraints.
Exposure to EDA tools such as Virtuoso, Design Compiler, Fusion Compiler, PrimeTime, Redhawk, and Totem.
Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, TCL, Perl, or Skill.
Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on experience with RTL development and simulation using Verilog or VHDL.
Familiarity with physical design processes including floor-planning, placement, and routing.
Knowledge of modeling, simulation, and functional verification tools.
Strong collaboration skills and ability to thrive in cross-functional environments.
Experience contributing to product innovation through design, layout, and optimization in DRAM or similar technologies.
