This role combines financial management with product costing support, requiring someone who can work autonomously while maintaining strong links to our UK based team.The successful candidate will take ownership of all local financial operations, from daily cash management to annual audit coordination.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management & ReportingProduce accurate monthly management accounts and financial statementsPrepare weekly cash flow forecasts and manage local cash requirementsOversee daily financial operations and transaction processingEnsure compliance with German GAAP and local regulatory requirementsMaintain and optimize DATEV accounting system processesCoordinate month-end and year-end closing proceduresReport directly to UK-based CFO with regular performance updatesSupport group financial planning and budgeting processesCommercial SupportSupport Production Manager to manage product costing data baseSupport pricing decisions using data from the Advanter costing databaseOversee stock valuations and ensure accuracy of stock recordsDevelop and maintain cost allocation models for reproduction and framing servicesCreate financial reports to support operational decision-makingAudit & ComplianceLead annual financial audit process as primary point of contactCoordinate and manage tax authority audits and enquiriesEnsure compliance with German tax legislation and filing requirementsEnsure products being shipped to the UK have the necessary export documentationImplement and maintain internal financial controlsTeam LeadershipSupervise and develop existing finance team membersProvide guidance on credit management and general administrationEstablish clear processes and procedures for finance operationsFoster collaborative working relationships across departmentsEssential RequirementsQualifications & ExperienceQualified accountant (German StB, ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in similar roleProven experience in German accounting standards and tax compliancePrevious audit coordination and management experienceManufacturing or production environment experience preferredTechnical SkillsAdvanced knowledge of German GAAP and tax legislationStrong Excel and financial modelling capabilitiesExperience with ERP systems (Advanter system knowledge advantageous)Understanding of cost accounting principlesCash flow management and forecasting expertiseLanguage & CommunicationNative or business-level German essentialFluent English for communication with UK managementPersonal AttributesStrong leadership and people management skillsSelf-motivated with ability to work autonomouslyExcellent organizational and time management abilitiesDetail-oriented with strong analytical thinkingCollaborative approach with commercial awarenessAdaptable to changing business requirementsLocationBased at our German subsidiary offices with occasional travel to UK headquarters for group meetings and strategic planning sessions.
