Vice President Group Consolidation

Our client is seeking an experienced finance leader to oversee the preparation and optimisation of consolidated financial statements and accounting processes at the group level. This senior role involves close collaboration with business units, auditors, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance, efficiency, and accuracy across financial reporting systems.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the timely preparation of quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS, as well as individual financial reports under the German Commercial Code (HGB).
* Take hands-on responsibility for specific reporting components, such as the consolidated cash flow statement.
* Analyse financial statements from various reporting entities and address related accounting matters.
* Provide technical leadership to accounting functions across multiple business divisions.
* Drive continuous improvement of reporting frameworks, consolidation workflows, and period-end closing procedures—particularly within the scope of ongoing transformation projects (e.g., S4 HANA implementation).
* Support and enhance the financial IT tools utilised for reporting and consolidation.
* Advise subsidiaries on technical IFRS-related consolidation issues.
* Act as the main liaison for external auditors.
* Contribute to strategic projects, including the rollout of new IFRS standards and IT solutions.
* Oversee internal control frameworks related to the consolidation and reporting processes.
* Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting and consolidation team.
Requirements:
* Degree in Business Administration or similar, with a focus on accounting and group reporting under both national and international standards (HGB & IFRS).
* Additional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or equivalent is a plus.
* A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including consolidation in international and publicly listed companies, with proven leadership skills.
* Strong analytical capabilities and a structured, detail-oriented approach.
* Deep expertise in IFRS, HGB, financial consolidation, and accounting systems.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP (particularly SAP FI and SAP SEM-BCS).
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
