Legal Counsel - Contract Law
Location: Oldenburg
Our client is seeking an experienced Legal Counsel with a focus on contract law to support its legal function. In this role, you will advise a range of business units on complex contractual matters and act as a key point of contact for all contract-related questions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Advise on major engineering and construction projects throughout bidding and contract phases.
* Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements with customers, suppliers, and service partners.
* Collaborate closely with internal teams such as procurement, warranty, claims, and quality management.
* Update, streamline, and harmonise existing contract frameworks.
* Support matters related to confidentiality, cooperation agreements, and offshore projects.
* Assess legal risks, manage claims, and coordinate litigation or dispute resolution with external counsel.
* Monitor legal developments and recommend necessary changes to internal policies and contracts.
Your Profile:
* Qualified lawyer (fully qualified, LL.M., or equivalent).
* Minimum 4 years’ professional experience in a law firm or corporate legal department, ideally within an industrial or technical environment.
* Strong expertise in contract law; experience in shipbuilding, construction, or manufacturing is an advantage.
* Skilled in claims handling, litigation, and regulatory topics.
* Strong communicator and negotiator with the ability to work effectively across departments.
* Structured, independent, and solution-oriented working style.
* Excellent English skills; German language proficiency is beneficial.
