Senior Electronics Design Engineer – FPGA Design (m/f/d)
As part of the Electronics Department at OHB, you will design and verify FPGA firmware for high-precision space applications. Our units control precision mechanisms, suppress vibrations, and process high-resolution image and sensor data. If you want to develop FPGA solutions that meet strict performance and reliability requirements in the harsh environment of space, this role fits you.
Your Tasks
1. Analyse and define technical requirements
2. Design architecture and requirements breakdown to functional blocks
3. FPGA design, implementation and definition of constraints
4. Design documentation according to internal and external normative standards
5. Creation and execution of test benches for RTL and timing simulation
6. Formal verification of FPGA designs (timing analysis, code coverage, coding rule check)
7. Support of the FPGA integration on the target hardware
8. Define verification concepts and plans
9. Conduct FPGA verification and test activities on the target hardware
10. Programming of test hardware for automated implementation of hardware test cases
Your Qualifications
11. University degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline
12. +5 years of professional experience in FPGA design and verification, preferably in the space or aerospace industry
13. Strong expertise in VHDL design for synthesis and behavioral modeling
14. Familiarity with state-of-the-art design and simulation tools (, Libero, ModelSim)
15. Experience in applying ECSS standards (ECSS-E-ST-20-40 and ECSS-Q-ST-60-02)
16. Knowledge of radiation mitigation techniques for space-grade electronics
17. Experience in FPGA-based applications, such as digital signal processing and control algorithms
18. Proficiency in programming languages (C/C++ or Python)
19. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
