Hauptaufgaben
Develops programs and training material that support classroom and hands-on training on all white fleet and military type assets ranging from small passenger van, cargo trucks, truck/trailer combinations, low-bed systems and heavy equipment with a GVW of more than 100 tons. Establishes a master training plan outlining course objectives. Reviews & updates handouts as necessary, to respond to specific problems encountered by drivers while on mission and/or in response to newly assigned equipment. Reviews course material to improve effectiveness and maintain up-to-date instruction techniques. Reviews completed work and critique sheets to improve sequence, procedures, and methods. Reviews and evaluates training material e.g. texts, manuals, and handbooks, training media such as audiovisual aids, methods, and tests to achieve a conductive learning environment.
Conducts training sessions to include basic driver's testing and vehicle familiarization using established and approved methods based on legal provisions and regulatory framework. Illustrates and explains mechanical operation of vehicles, driving techniques and preventive maintenance. Conducts final road tests, observers and assess' student's competence and ability for handling vehicles. Reviews written examinations, signs and issues vehicle operator permits. Conducts specialized training sessions with regard to the transport of hazardous cargo, blocking & bracing IAW VDI 2700ff IAW a curriculum approved by the Industrie und Handelskammer (IHK), the Bundeswehr, and monitored by the USAREUR Command Dangerous Goods Advisor as well as basic, intermediate and refresher session IAW the Berufskraftfahrerqualifizierungsgesetz, and AE-Regulation 600-55.
Keeps abreast of changes in traffic laws, pertinent regulations, pamphlets, ordinances and corresponding European regulations. Maintains close contact with SME of different functional fields to discuss impact of changes in traffic laws, ADR (European Agreement concerning the international Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road), AE-Regulations, training contents and other pertinent adjustments. Informs supervisor of other agencies and supervisor of subordinate elements for the purpose of scheduling and arranging classes, for the availability of appropriate training aids and substantive material. Informs supervisors of employees not meeting the standard and takes necessary actions such as providing additional training and/or modifications required on tools and equipment to meet these requirements.
Performs duties as Hazardous Goods Advisor (Gefahrgutbeauftragter) according to the Ordinance on Dangerous Goods (Gefahrgutbeauftragtenvordnung). Renders guidance on the spectrum of transporting hazardous cargo on public European roads prior to mission start or while en-route to final destination. Maintains a file of waivers.
Performs related administrative duties and compiles statistical data. Maintains class attendance accountability. Obtains ADR and driver's license information and updates material in a timely manner. Keeps records of training, testing and licensing and recertification. Maintains a record keeping system IAW the Army Record Management System (ARIMS).
Performs other duties as assigned.

KH-6:
E&T Level I: 2 years of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 3 years of experience as defined in B below.
Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation must have 2 additional years of creditable experience as described in A below.
E&T Level II: 1 years of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 3 years of experience as defined in B below.
E&T Level III: 2 years of creditable experience as defined in B below.
E&T Level IV: 1 year of creditable experience as defined in B below.
E&T Level V: No additional experience required.
Current employees who have served one year in the same or similar occupation are qualified for the next higher grade.
KH-07:
E&T Level I: 2 years of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 4 years of experience as defined in B below.
Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation must have 2 additional years of creditable experience as described in A below.
E&T Level II: 1 years of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 4 years of experience as defined in B below.
E&T Level III: 3 years of creditable experience as defined in B below.
E&T Level IV: 2 years of creditable experience as defined in B below.
E&T Level V: 1 year of creditable experience as defined in B below.
Current employees who have served one year in the same or similar occupation are qualified for the next higher grade.
Experience A: Included clerical work in an office or store, working with computers, bookkeeping, making and recording inventories, telephone marketing, arranging for events or as a cashier, etc.
Experience B: Experience in the same or similar line of work as the job for which considered. The experience must demonstrate that the applicant possesses the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required in the position. The predominant experience must have been gained at a comparable level of difficulty to the position to be filled. The amount of the higher level experience must be in a reasonable relation to the required total number of years.
• Applicants must be in possession of German Driver's licenses class B & CE.
• Must be able to obtain skills and knowledge to act as the units Hazardous Goods Advisor.
• Office Automation skills required.
• Driver's License Trainer desired.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY LEVEL:
English Language Proficiency Level AND German Language Proficiency Level C1 required.

Position may be filled at the KH-06 or at the full performance level KH-07. Incumbent may be non-competitively promoted to the next higher or full performance level in accordance with regulatory requirements, upon completion of required training, and recommendation of supervisor.
• If requirements exists, the incumbent of this position is obligated to perform TDY within and outside Germany, shift work, weekend and holiday work.
