Site Engineer / Manager – Railway Infrastructure Projects
An excellent opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to join a reputable international contractor, delivering major railway infrastructure projects across Germany.
Location: Projects can be based NRW, Hesse, and South Germany.
Must be happy to travel.
Salary: €65,000 – €90,000 (DOE)
Job Description:
Our client, a leading international construction and civil engineering organisation, is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee railway infrastructure projects, including track works, civil structures, and associated facilities. The role involves hands-on site leadership, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. Noise barrier installation experience is advantageous but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Full site responsibility for railway infrastructure projects, from planning to completion
* Coordination and supervision of on-site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
* Monitoring construction progress, safety compliance, and quality assurance
* Reviewing and implementing technical project requirements and construction methods
* Managing budgets, reporting on costs, and ensuring efficient resource allocation
* Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, engineers, and project stakeholders
* Supporting inspections, commissioning, and project handover
Qualifications & Experience Required:
* Completed technical training or degree in Civil Engineering, or related discipline
* 3–5+ years’ experience as a Site Manager on large-scale infrastructure projects
* Experience in railway infrastructure works is ideal; noise barrier experience is a plus
* Strong knowledge of construction processes, planning, and cost management
* Familiarity with German construction regulations and standards (VOB, DB guidelines advantageous)
* Full driving licence (Class B)
* German (C1 level)
* Willingness to travel for projects
