Introduction to the Position
My client, a Berlin-based tech company operating on Workday Financials, is seeking a senior finance leader to define and drive its financial strategy while leading the FP&A and Financial Systems functions. This is a high-impact leadership role at the centre of the organisation’s commercial and operational decision-making.
The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping long-term financial direction, supporting growth initiatives, and ensuring robust financial planning and analysis across the business. With a strong focus on B2C marketing performance, this role requires someone who can translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders.
This is a highly visible position, working closely with executive leadership, the board, and external stakeholders, while also driving continuous improvement across finance systems, processes, and scalable finance operations through technology.
Your Responsibilities
* Lead and develop the FP&A and Financial Systems functions
* Own budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes
* Deliver high-quality financial modelling and strategic analysis to support executive decision-making
* Provide clear insights into business performance, with a strong focus on B2C marketing spend and ROI
* Present financial results and strategic recommendations to senior leadership, board members, and external stakeholders
* Drive improvements in financial systems, tools, and reporting capabilities (Workday Financials environment)
* Enhance finance processes to support scalability and business growth
* Build, mentor, and develop high-performing finance teams
* Partner closely with commercial, marketing, and operational teams to support strategic initiatives
Desired Qualifications
* 10+ years of experience in finance roles
* Minimum 5+ years in a senior leadership or management position
* Strong background in FP&A, financial planning, and analysis
* Experience working with financial systems, ideally Workday Financials
* Proven track record in building financial models and delivering strategic insights
* Experience working in B2C or high-growth tech environments is highly desirable
* Strong stakeholder management experience, including board-level exposure
* Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Strong understanding of end-to-end finance processes

The salary range for this position is €110,000 – €160,000 base plus bonus – My client may be open to slightly higher salary expectations based on the candidates experience.
