Postdoctoral researcher (m/f/d) - Medical Department for Hematology, Oncology, and Cell Therapy DAS UNIVERSITÄTSKLINIKUM MAGDEBURG The Faculty of Medicine is part of the Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg and works in close collaboration with the Magdeburg University Hospital A.ö.R. in research, teaching, and clinical care. Cutting-edge research and modern technologies are central to our approach. Major research priorities include Immunology, Cell and Immunotherapy, and Neurosciences. The laboratory of Prof. Dr. Dimitrios Mougiakakos is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our dynamic and interdisciplinary team. The project is embedded within the framework of the Collaborative Research Center/Transregio SFB/Transregio 221 and focuses on immune regulation and tolerance mechanisms in the context of allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT), with translational extension toward antigen-specific cellular therapies (e.g., CAR-T cells). Our research addresses mechanisms of metabolic fitness and resilience of immune cells in the post-transplant setting and during adoptive cellular immunotherapy. We investigate how metabolic programming shapes T-cell function, persistence, exhaustion, and therapeutic efficacy, and how these pathways can be therapeutically modulated to improve transplant outcomes and next-generation antigen-specific cell therapies. A central aim of the project is to identify actionable metabolic vulnerabilities and resilience pathways that can be translated into innovative immunotherapeutic strategies in transplantation and cellular therapy.
