This research network aims to use interdisciplinary research and communication to develop new strategies and methods for risk assessment, improve outbreak management and optimise control of antimicrobial-resistant pathogens. The research is based on the One Health approach, which accounts for the interaction of humans, animals and the environment. All research is carried out as cooperative projects between several partner institutes. The position to be filled is associated with Project 9, which will investigate the potential of flies (Insecta) to transmit antimicrobial-resistant pathogens to humans. The research work will include laboratory and field experiments as well as modelling approaches to examine fly movement behaviour and the shedding of pathogenic bacteria, and to assess possible risks for human health.
