Beschreibung

The CRC/TRR 417 "Cellular Communication in the Stroma of Colorectal Cancer: From Pathophysiology to Clinical Translation”, focusing on understanding and therapeutically targeting the tumor microenvironment in colorectal cancer was granted to Goethe University Frankfurt, together with Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg and the University of Freiburg by the DFG earlier this year. This interdisciplinary research consortium aims to overcome resistance to immunotherapies by reprogramming stromal and immune cells and integrating insights from the gut microbiome.

We are seeking 30 Doctoral Candidates (m/f/d) to join the TRR 417 on all three sites, pursuing functional cancer research on different aspects of cellular communication in the tumor microenvironment of colorectal cancer.

The positions are integrated into the structured education program of the Integrated Research Training Group (IRTG) and provide ample networking opportunities amongst the doctoral candidates as well as with the more established researchers in the TRR 417. The IRTG sets out to educate tomorrow’s specialists in academic research, clinical practice and pharmaceutical industry that work towards improving the life quality and expectancy of CRC patients.
