Ausschreibungsbereich

Current INTERNAL Local National Employees throughout Germany. This covers all current Local National employees of the U.S. Forces in Germany, including U.S. Army & Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES)-Europe within Germany

and

EXTERNAL Local National Applicants, who reside in Germany.


Hauptaufgaben

The employee analyzes inpatient and ambulatory medical records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory standards. They collect, review, and file records, identify documentation deficiencies, and ensure corrections are made before finalizing. They maintain tracking systems, prepare monthly reports on delinquency rates, and serve as the point of contact for electronic record issues. The employee conducts focused and monthly reviews, summarizes findings, and presents results to review committees. They also perform clerical and data entry tasks using medical record systems, track record movement, retrieve incomplete files, and generate reports, ensuring full accountability and adherence to documentation policies.

Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifikationsanforderungen

E&T Level I: 2 years of general experience PLUS 1 year of job related experience as described below

Current employees who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation, must have 2 years of creditable experience that included simple clerical work in an office or store, working with computers, bookkeeping, making and recording inventories, telephone marketing, arranging for events or as a cashier, etc.

E&T Level II: 1 year of general experience PLUS 1 year of job related experience as described below

E&T Level III A and IV A: No additional experience required, however, the completed apprenticeship must have been as a Doctor's Assistant, or in a commercial, business or administrative occupation, e.g. Industriekaufmann/ frau, Kaufmann/frau im Gross und Einzelhandel, or in steuer- und wirtschaftsberatenden Berufen, Rechtsanwaltskanzleien, Banken or similar occupations.

E&T Level III B and C: No additional experience required.

E&T Level IV B and C: Not creditable for positions in this occupational series

E&T Level IV D and V: No additional experience required.

Internal placements: As an exception current employees in the same or similar occupational series who have served one year in their current position, are qualified for the next higher grade level.

General Experience: Experience which includes simple clerical work in an office or store or working with computers, as a cashier, bookkeeping, making and recording inventories, telephone marketing, arranging for events, etc
Job Related Experience: Experience that provided knowledge in the ambulatory medical record processes and methods, and in developing, maintaining, and monitoring special registries that assist physicians in the care and treatment of patients. The experience must demonstrate that relevance can be determined of many facts and conditions such as information contained in the record, legal and regulatory requirements, and other variables.

Auswahlkriterien auswählen

English Language Proficiency Level C1 required.
German Language Proficiency Level A2 required.

C1 = Understand a wide range of longer and more demanding texts or conversations. Express ideas without too much searching. Effectively use the language for social, academic, or professional situations. Create well-structured and detailed texts on complex topics.
A2 = Understand frequently used expressions in most intermediate areas such as shopping, family, employment, etc. Complete tasks that are routine and involve a direct exchange of information. Describe matters of immediate need in simple terms.

Beschäftigungsbedingungen

This is a temporary full-time position (38.5 hours/ week) until return of permanent incumbent, not to exceed 1 year.
* Relocation expenses are not authorized

* Experience with the use of common software and computer systems, carrying out routine office work (= Office Automation) is required.
* Knowledge of Basic Medical Terminology desired.
* It is highly recommended that all employees who provide work in military treatment facilities in Germany be immunized against seasonal influenza infection each year or as often as recommended. The immunization will be provided at no cost to the employee.

THIS CONCERNS ALL EXTERNAL APPLICANTS:

* Generally, you must have been a resident in Germany for at least 12 months. Non-US citizen family members and German citizens are exempt from this requirement.
* Your permanent residence must be within Germany.
* Police Good Conduct Certificate (Polizeiliches Führungszeugnis): On initial appointment, or re-appointment after a break in service, candidates who have been selected for a position must present a police good-conduct certificate prior to appointment to the position. The applicant must obtain the certificate from the local resident registration office. The cost for the certificate is not reimbursable. Non-U.S. citizen family members, except German citizens are exempt from this requirement.
* Upon appointment with the U.S. Forces it is required to present two valid picture identifications to get access to the computer systems. Recognized documents are only: Personal ID (Personalausweis), Personal Travel Identification (Reisepass) and the European Union (EU) Driver's License (plastic card format). We recommend ensuring at the time of application that at least two of these documents are available or requested.
* Foreign National Screening (Sicherheitsüberprüfung): In accordance with U.S. Army Europe Regulation 604-1, within three days after appointment, a background check will be initiated to determine suitability for continued employment with the U. S. Forces in Germany. If results are unacceptable, employment will be terminated during the probationary period, or any time thereafter, if the background checks reveal that the employee constitutes a security risk.
