Within this framework, our trademark team plays a vital role in safeguarding the identity and reputation of our brands.As Senior Counsel (f/m/d) Trademarks you play a key role in shaping and protecting the global brand portfolio. Your day may begin with reviewing trademark clearance reports for new product names, followed by advising marketing and business teams on brand strategy and risk mitigation. You collaborate with colleagues across regions to coordinate filings, manage enforcement actions, and negotiate coexistence or license agreements. In the afternoon, you might lead a call with external law firm on a cross-border infringement case or provide input on IP clauses in a commercial agreement. Throughout the day, you act as a trusted advisor on trademark matters, monitor legal developments globally and provide internal training and guidance, ensuring our global brand assets are safeguarded and aligned with business goals.How You’ll Make an Impact
4. Provide expert legal advice on all aspects of trademark law, including clearance, registration, enforcement, and litigation with a global scope
5. Manage and develop the company’s global trademark portfolio, including prosecution, oppositions, and cancellation and
6. Partner with branding, product, and commercial teams to ensure brand protection and compliance in all jurisdictions as well as close collaboration with colleagues in our global IP team in other locations as well as with colleagues from our Legal department
7. Draft and negotiate trademark-related agreements, including licenses, coexistence agreements, and settlements
8. Supervise and coordinate the work of external counsel globally to ensure high-quality, cost-effective legal support aligned with business objectives
9. Counsel and support IP aspects of M&A, joint ventures, and other central initiatives
What You Bring
10. Fully qualified legal attorney, ideally admitted to the German bar (Zulassung als Rechtsanwalt / Rechtsanwältin)
11. Long-term proven professional experience in trademark law, preferably in an international corporate or law firm setting
12. Deep understanding of EU, German, and international trademark law and practice; additional experience and knowledge of trademark law and practice would be a strong advantage
13. High level of proficiency in verbal and written English. German and other languages are a plus
14. Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills coupled with intercultural sensitivity
15. Business-minded, proactive, and team-oriented individual who is self-motivated, adept at balancing multiple tasks, and thrives in a fast-paced global environment
